A sector that challenges popular ideas:
- an almost perfect parity: 51% men for 49% women
- generations that each have their preferences: smartphone for the youngest, PC and living room consoles for the older ones.
-A physical format that always has the coast: it represents 67% of purchases, acclaimed by players who like to collect, resell or lend their games.
About 6 hours each week on video games
About 6 hours: it's the average playing time spent every week by French players. But beware of common places! Far from being only addicted to their controllers or their smartphone, French players are also jack-of-all-trades: they are indeed more numerous than the average to frequent the sports halls, cinemas or museums. Video games are also a way of creating a link, especially among the youngest who build and maintain their friendships in the context of their practice.
The icing on the cake: the video game industry is more than ever dreaming. More than a third of 18-34 year olds imagine their career there, with, surprise, women increasingly interested!
