GAO#3: Meeting with Jean Guesdon around Assassin's Creed Origins - Discovery Tour

For the 3rd edition of Game All Over on June 5 at the Plaine Images , we have the honor to welcome Jean Guesdon, creative director - Ubisoft , who will introduce the professional day by evoking the educational ambitions of Assassin's Creed Origins: Discovery Round. Jean has been working since its origin on the license of Ubisoft's blockbuster, and it was he who promoted this experience: to make Assassin's Creed a support for teaching history.

The game takes up the Egyptian universe of Assassin's Creed Origins , erasing scriptwriting elements and any effect of violence. In this edition, the goal is purely educational. It is a question of discovering ancient Egypt, its history and its legends. It is a real 3D immersion which becomes an educational support.

"We discussed for more than 2 years with representatives of the educational environment, to identify the needs and put it all in shape effectively" explains Jean Guesdon.

Marc-André Ethier, professor of history didactics in Quebec, tested the use of the Assassin's Creed Origins education mode in 9 different colleges by comparing its use with that of an "ordinary learning" of history in class. "It turns out that the students who went around have learned things, as much as with a classic course," he said.

The Quebec teacher notes that the use of such a game in class can present material constraints (PC purchase, and more simply, of the game itself, which costs around twenty euros), but according to him 'Acts an interesting educational tool to bring "sometimes something that the manual cannot bring".

It is a chance to enjoy a keynote dedicated to this experience during the Game All Over 3, June 5, 2018 from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm at the Plaine Images , led by the creator of this first!
