Artfx Lille - Plaine Images: One of the most prestigious creative schools in the world settles on October 5 in the heart of Europe
It is on October 5 that the new ArtFX campus will open its doors in the heart of the Plaine Images with the support of the Hauts-de-France region , the European Metropolis of Lille (MEL), the cities of Roubaix and Tourcoing, Pictanovo , the Plaine Images and Lille's Agency .
The School of Digital Arts located in Montpellier for more than 15 years has indeed settled in the start of the 2020 m 220 m 2 in the "Le Jacquard" building with its first "northern" promotion. 87 students integrate ArtFX in the 1st year and will be trained in 5 years with visual effects, animation or video games.
An ideal location at the crossroads of Europe
Ideally located in this area of excellence of the Plaine Images , between professional studios of these different sectors and cinema, as well as an incubator of startups, the new ArtFX campus created to meet the growing requests of the studios is part of The continuity of the values since 2004 in Montpellier. Pierre-Henry Laporterie, appointed last July, manager of ArtFX Lille-Plaine Images, is in charge of the pedagogy and the life of the school with a team of 3 permanent dedicated and twenty teachers. and professional workers , supported by the support services installed in Montpellier.
About Pierre-Henry LAPORTERIE
With initially an artistic training in fine arts, Pierre-Henry Laporterie began his career in video games at Ubisoft and Strange Libellule between 1998 and 2005.
For 7 years, he evolves through several positions (3D graphic designer, 2D designer and director artistic) on AAA projects. This route allows him to gain significant experience in producing video games.
Between 2005 and 2019, his career continued in the animated feature film. He participates in various international or national projects for Universal, Dreamworks, Mac Guff, Onanimation, Folivari illumination ... including "the illusionist" by Sylvain Chomet. He works on the animated storyboard, develops the creation of characters and the film's sets in the studio based in Edinburgh in Scotland. The film will be appointed to the Oscars and will win a César in 2011. In parallel, Pierre-Henry Laportrie has the desire to transmit. He intervenes for almost 10 years in animation schools such as Gobelins, Emile Cohl, Rubika, ESAAT ... to participate in the follow -up of end -of -studies projects or to lead workshops in concept/design. In 2014, these experiences led him to take care of the educational coordination and the deployment of the Parisian campus as an animation cinema of the ECV school. He also took responsibility, between 2014 and 2020, of the school animation course on his Lille campus.
